yakusinchiWild, where all animals matter....
This project has been set up to get much needed volunteer help, information and animal technical advice into all Wildlife rescue centres, rehabilitation centres and zoos in Ecuador.  Part of the project is the introduction of an ongoing supported natural healing program using Homeopathy for all animals in need.  Objectives include the formation of a communication network between all animal centres so that training and information can be exchanged, animals can be placed in the best possible place for them and a comprehensive register of all wild animals in captivity can be kept.

yakusinchiGarden, growing in harmony....
YakusinchiGarden is creating a nationwide network of organic, biodynamic and Permaculture farms and gardens in Ecuador to communicate and share knowledge,  experience and education.  By bringing farms together we can promote good husbandry of farms, soil and plants.  In yakusinchiGarden we are caring for the land while nourishing the soul and providing the opportunity to be one with the environment.  We provide farm and garden assessment services for people establishing new gardens or turning existing gardens into something more in tune with nature.

yakusinchiReserve, research while nature sings....
This is our spectacular reserve in sub-tropical Cloud Forest.  We are looking for organisations or self-motivated individuals who would like to initiate their own projects to document the plant, animal and tree life in an unusual climate with beautiful surroundings.  yakusinchiReserve nestles in Cloud Forest in the foothills of the Western Andes of Ecuador and is home to many species of animals, insects, birds, snakes and butterflies, including the Ecuadorian Howler monkey, toucans and parrots.

yakusinchiVolunteers, be the voice....
We always need volunteers to work in Wildlife centres or in organic, Permaculture and biodynamic farms and gardens in Ecuador and in a variety of climates, terrains and regions.  All you need is a love for all things animal and natural.  We give you a week’s hands-on practical training in fabulous Vilcabamba in the Southern Andes, organise Spanish classes if need be, set you up on some great tours and send you to the wildlife or farming placement of your choice for the length of time you choose (from one week to one year or more!!...best is a minimum of 3-4 weeks).  During your placement time you report back to Jane and Daniel regularly so that you can be part of the gathering of information and data that is needed to form the basis of a nationwide communication network to benefit the future of all Wildlife in captivity and Sustainable Farming in Ecuador.

Yakusinchi is a South American Kichwa word meaning “the spirit of water” or the “vital force of water” and the name came to husband and wife, Daniel Recalde and Jane Sloan, when they were standing under the full force of one of the many 25-30 metre waterfalls on their beautiful Reserve in Cloud Forest in the Cotopaxi Province of Ecuador.

Surrounded by those waterfalls and the extraordinary watery and misty environment that is sub-tropical cloud forest, the idea was born to bring together people who really want to make a difference by doing practical works that are a constructive part of a larger plan to bring help, information and technical advice to the areas of Wildlife Care and Sustainable Farming and Living in Ecuador.

Daniel and Jane are harnessing that strength of the energy of water into thought and are using the positive power of that thought to carry out important works all over the country with the help of a growing band of international volunteers who go back home feeling satisfied that they have made a difference.
